Emma's first haircut
Mommy and Daddy decided that Emma's hair was just getting too crazy and it was time to get it trimmed, so Mommy booked an appointment for Emma to get her very first haircut today. (At 20 months and 1 day, that is a pretty long time to go without a cut!) We went to the stylist that has been doing Mommy's hair for the past several years, Wanda. Mommy brought along Emma's booster seat so that Emma could be strapped in, and then Wanda got out the special, kid-sized cape that Emma thought was really cool, and we were ready to go! Mommy gave Em one of her books to read to keep her distracted (and hopefully still) and then Wanda made the first cut, which she put into an envelope for Mommy to keep. Emma was so intent on reading her book aloud to us, she barely noticed that Wanda was cutting her hair! In about 15 minutes, it was all done, and Emma seemed quite pleased with the results as she waved at her reflection in the mirror. Emma even got an official certificate to commemorate her first haircut from John, the salon's owner. After her haircut, Emma is now much less prone to getting "hat head" and her hair is even curlier than it had been before, not to mention it no longer falls into her eyes thanks to her new bangs. What a big girl Emma is becoming now!
