Cruising with the big kids
This afternoon, Emma was watching the big kids (we're talking the 7 and up crowd) out riding their bikes, scooters and skateboards out on the street. She really, really wanted to go out and play with them, so Mommy got Em into her jacket and shoes and out we went. Emma hopped on to her scooter and pressed the buttons to get the cruisin' music playing, then she checked out where the big kids were and decided she was ready to go! Up until today, Emma has only been able to go backwards on any of her riding toys, but to Mommy's surprise, she took off going forwards for the first time, so determined was she to go play with the big kids! She made it all the way down the driveway and onto the sidewalk, where the big kids graciously came up to her on their bikes and "rode" along with her for a bit, before heading off on up the street. Emma was so excited to be "playing" with them, she was beaming! Emma cruised the sidewalk for a bit before her Mommy and the other moms on the street decided it was time for all the kids to go in for dinner.
