Mostly walking Emma
Emma is getting sooooo close to walking all on her own now! On Monday, she walked from the couch over to where Mommy was sitting on the floor without any prompting in order to try to grab something out of Mommy's hand. It was about 8 or 10 steps and she didn't fall or drop down and crawl the whole way! Then on Tuesday at playgroup, Emma was watching her friends Rachel and Kyle walking all around and she took some more solo steps there too! She also walked a little bit today at Gymboree class, so it seems that the day is coming very soon when Emma will be a walker and not use crawling as her primary means of getting from Point A to Point B! We'll keep you posted, and probably get some video footage of our new walker for you too.
In the meantime, here are some pictures from Emma's activities in recent days:
- Emma and Mommy rode the carousel up at Ontario Beach Park last week along with a bunch of Emma's friends and their mommies. Emma went on the carousel twice and then had to eat most of Mommy's Italian ice afterwards because she worked up such an appetite!
- Emma took the chance to pose with Grandpa and Grandma Hunter when they came to spend the weekend with her. She had lots of fun with them, going to the Park Avenue Festival and just goofing around at home, too.
- Emma continues to enjoy the unlimited summer Gymboree classes. Here she is hanging out with Ava and Taylor and also playing in the open tunnel with Taylor. When the theme for class is tunnels - and even when it isn't! - Emma likes to crawl through the red tunnel and sit under the slides in what the mommies have dubbed "the baby zoo" because it has zoo exhibit-like bars down the one side. (You'll notice that Omar is on his way through the red tunnel behind Emma!) Em also likes all the songs she is learning at Gymboree, and will do the hand motions for them too. One last Gymboree picture, because Mommy couldn't resist! Here is a shot of Ava, Emma and Omar as they enjoyed a ride on the sled in class this afternoon. I guess you can tell they are Rochester kids since they enjoy sledding even in the middle of summer!
