At long last, an update!
It's been a couple of weeks since Mommy has had a chance to post new pictures and updates, but don't think that means we haven't been taking pictures, because we have! We have just been very busy with Emma's packed social calendar and Mommy hasn't had a chance to sit down at the computer and do the update. (Okay, so Mommy has had a chance to sit at the computer, but lately she's been playing gin rummy on Yahoo Games instead of updating the blog....)
So, to recap the past few weeks:
- Emma had a Girl's Day Out with her friends Taylor and Ava recently, visiting the animals at Springdale Farm. Omar was supposed to join us, but he opted to take a nap instead. The girls missed Omar, but still had fun. They especially liked the miniature horses out in the field. The mommies tried to get the kids to all smile for the camera at the same time, but as you might have guessed, that is next to impossible to do! They looked pretty cute anyhow...
- Emma loves her collection of hats. It doesn't even matter if they fit or not, she'll plunk one or two on her head and happily crawl around. She'll even wear them right into the bath tub - basically anywhere, anytime, except when we are out in the sun and she needs it!
- Here is Em showing off one of her favorite hats as she sits on the couch. How did she get up onto the couch, you ask? By using her Gymboree skills and climbing right up all by herself! You can see how pleased she is with herself for making it onto the couch, and how she has figured out she can cause more mischief now that she can access a whole new level of things! (Mommy was right there to spot her, so Em was safe!)
- Emma and Mommy and Daddy went out last Thursday night with Omar and his folks (and their dog, Sierra too) to get some dessert and listen to a band down on Park Ave. Emma had fun "brushing" Omar's hair and also hanging out with Omar's daddy. Emma really liked Omar's daddy - especially when he played the "nose game" with Em for a long, long time back at Omar's house. Neither of the kids wanted to go to sleep, even though they were in their jammies, so they had a very late playdate while the grown-ups chatted.
- Emma has really enjoyed having "unlimited Gymboree" this summer. We go two or three times a week, and she can't get enough of it! Here's a recent weekend class where Emma demonstrated her climbing agility, enjoyed some bubble time, and did all her favorite songs (with motions) like the "Oops, opps, belly flops!" part of Down on the Banks of the Hanky-Panky. Emma will be quite sad when summer is over and we're back to just regular Gymboree!
- Last but not least, if you would like to see a 2 minute clip of Emma goofing around in the bathtub, click here to download it. A word of warning - it is a huge file (27MB) and unless you have a really fast connection, like DSL or a cable modem, it will take a loooong time to download. If you have Quicktime, it will play automatically, otherwise you can download Quicktime here for free. The clip is from the other night when Emma started "blowing" Daddy over and then cracking up when he'd "fall" onto the floor from her blowing. She was laughing so hard at one point that she couldn't even blow anymore! She also demonstrates some of her "kewl" dance moves in the tub too, usually a no-no but she got away with it since the camera was rolling. Enjoy!
