Countdown to One Year Old Em
The countdown is on! Emma will be one year old a week from tomorrow. Since the one year milestone can mean turning the carseat to face front so long as Emma weighs 20 pounds, we decided to take her to Daddy's office and weigh her to see if she is near the mark. Only thing is, the last time we weighed her there, she still was in the infant carseat carrier, but now she is so big, we had to figure something else out. This was our solution, which Em thought was a lot of fun! The verdict? 19.9 pounds.... so she should be able to ride in the car facing forward starting next week!
Another sign of her impending birthday was that Mommy took her this morning to get her blood test done before her next doctor's appointment. Emma was a very brave girl, and the test wasn't so bad - just a finger prick then lots of squeezing to get TWO vials of blood out of it. The way the lab tech bandaged her finger when she was done is called "big booboo finger" and we could see why when she was finished! (By the way, Emma isn't crying in this picture because of the blood test. She's upset because Mommy had just put her into her crib for her morning nap. She was sound asleep about 30 seconds later!)
Also in preparation of her upcoming first birthday cake, Emma has decided to begin clapping on her own. She started last night and hasn't stopped - she even applauded nonstop as Mommy changed her stinky diaper this morning! (Was a bow or curtsy in order?)
