Active Emma (aka How to get Em to take a nice, long nap!)
Emma has been so very active lately that she's begun to take nice, long naps to rest up. Here are some of the things she has been doing that have tired her right out - Emma is the Energizer Bunny at Gymboree! She climbs up the ramps to hang out with her friends up top. (Bar, Taylor and Selin are hanging out up high with Emma in this picture.) The grown-ups are always close at hand to spot the kids while they play! Emma tries to taste everything that she can get into her mouth at Gymboree. (She's not the only kid to do so, either - you really have to watch out for the drool!) She also cruises and dances up on the bridge (here with her friend Taylor), which she clearly enjoys a lot! She also had fun on the recent Mom's Club outing to Springdale Farms, despite the hot, hot weather and then the rainstorm that almost caught us. She and her friend Kyle were all ready to go see the animals - sunscreen and hats in place! Emma tried to share her stroller toy with one of the horses, but Mommy said "Ew, horse spit!" and moved the stroller out of reach. Emma and the other kids liked looking at the turkeys, chicks and chickens, goats, cow and especially the pigs - both of the BIIIIG pigs we saw last time have the cutest baby piglets now! The only thing Emma didn't like was when one of the mama sheep BAAAAAAA-ed very loudly right in her face. Good thing Grandma and Grandpa Hunter don't have any more sheep on their farm - Em thinks sheep are kinda scary now! Emma also has spent lots of time going for walks now that the weather is nicer, and somehow whenever she goes for a walk, she always manages to wind up somewhere where there are swings to swing on, which Em can do for hours if she's allowed. Between all the time spent out and about and the rest of the time she spends chasing the cats around inside, it is no wonder she conks out at naptime nowadays! (PS - Since Mommy forgot to bring her camera this week, thanks to Taylor's mom, Katrina, and to Bar's mom, Michal, for the Gymboree pictures!)
