Emma is one busy bee!
Okay, it might be kind of sad (or even pathetic) to admit it, but these days Emma has a busier schedule than her Mommy! (Okay, so I do keep myself pretty busy as her chauffer/escort, but still...) Emma now attends Story Time twice a week and will be going THREE times a week starting next week, and she also is a new member of the Gymboree Gymcrawlers class on Thursdays. Emma really enjoyed her preview Gymboree classes, and it looks like it will only be more fun the more mobile Emma becomes. (They didn't have a GymRollers class, alas!) Emma's preferred method of transportation at this point is rolling. Her back half seems to have crawling perfected (bottom up, legs scooch forward) but then her front half can't quite get the hang of it and she winds up rolling instead. Who knows, maybe she'll be one of those babies that goes right to walking!
In the meantime, Emma allowed Mommy to take a few pictures of her during some (rare) downtime this evening:
- Emma enjoyed her opportunity to chill out on the couch while chewing on one of her toys. (For the record, all things that can go into Emma's mouth will go into Emma's mouth these days - including other babies' fingers, as she demonstrated at Gymboree!)
- Emma showed off her bottom teeth but the top tooth still remains unphotographed. It is coming in fast though - I swear it's coming in like one of those time-lapse nature videos!
- Em always enjoys it when Daddy sings to her. This time the song was Itsy-Bitsy, Teeny-Weeny, Yellow, Polka-Dot Bikini - and people think it is bad that Mommy exposes her to show tunes?!?
- Emma really enjoys bathtime now that she is sitting up in the tub, and as you'll notice, Chloe the cat enjoys bathtime too. Actually, Chloe likes to be ANYWHERE there is water, a most un-catlike behavior!
- At the conclusion of every bath, the parent doing the bathing holds Emma aloft and sings a few bars of The Circle of Life with Emma standing in for Simba. Emma finds this pretty darn amusing, but may be confused in a few years when she actually watches The Lion King...
