Emma's first Christmas

Without any further ado, here is the photo recap from Emma's first Christmas:

Here is the first annual shot of Emma with Santa Claus, in which you can see her official Christmas outfit. This is the same outfit she wore to church on Christmas Eve.
This is the picture we used for our Christmas cards, which we took using the timer on the digital camera. Perhaps I'll post the outtakes sometime, as some of them were quite amusing!
Part of our Christmas week festivities included going to a surprise birthday party that Uncle Jim threw for Aunt Honda on December 23rd. Emma was a very social girl at the party, mingling with family and friends like Aunt Megan, and babbling away from the high chair she sat in during dinner.
Emma wore the "My First Christmas" jammies that her Great-Aunt Marion gave her and was all smiles under the tree at Grandma and Grandpa Hunter's house Christmas morning.
Emma received many presents, but seemed more interested in eating the paper in which they were wrapped! She decided to taste most of her presents, including her musical lamb toy, which shouldn't be chewed on, and the teething toy that was meant to be covered in copious amounts of drool!
Emma enjoyed spending time with all her relatives on Christmas, including her Gramma Bindert and Aunt Betsy, who came from NYC to spend Christmas at Grandma and Grandpa Hunter's farm.
Emma didn't have visions of sugarplums dancing in her head, but she did have plums all over her face since they were her food of the week. She really likes plums a lot, too! Next year, Emma hopes she will be old enough to try some of the wonderful Christmas dinner items that all the grown-ups really enjoyed!

Technically, this picture was taken after we got back from Christmas, but the look on Emma's face makes it look like she was having a little too much fun at a holiday party, as if someone had exchanged the formula in her bottle for some of Uncle Joel's spiked eggnog! Actually this was snapped during one of Mommy's "nature photographer" attempts to capture Em blowing raspberries while bouncing in her Jolly Jumper.
