Vampire Baby
Emma has a new "thing" that she does that we have named the "Vampire Baby" routine. When we're holding her so that her head is close to our neck/ears/jaw/face, Emma begins to gnaw - or more accurately, gum - on the aforementioned parental body part that is within reach. We think she is doing this because she is imitating us, as we are constantly smooching her chubby cheeks and chins, but whatever the reason, it is as if we have a toothless Baby Dracula. It is absolutely the cutest thing, if a bit moist, as she leaves a trail of drool in her wake. She is getting terrific muscle control in her neck these days, which helps in her quest to gum us into oblivion! She coos and smiles and laughs while she is doing it, so at least she is a happy baby vampire.

Speaking of those chubby cheeks and chins, we weighed Emma on Saturday, and are pleased to report that she is up to 9 pounds, 3.2 ounces! (Incidentally, Emma is exactly eight weeks old today!) New pictures will follow as soon as I get some more uploaded...
